Technology Transfer and Development Team

Advances in technology, innovations, research and development of new technologies are constantly occurring in government research facilities and managed programs. The Technology Transfer and Development Team can provide advice as to how the new technologies, or technologies currently applied for a specific use, can be applied in different sectors of industry, or consumer use. Transferring technology from the military or space exploration efforts to the public in the form of new consumer goods and products have tremendous benefits to our society. Such examples of success stories, prior to the formation of the Loucks Group, where technology was transferred from government sponsored developed products and systems to the public include:

  • Global Positioning System (GPS)
  • World Wide Web and the Internet
  • Night vision
  • Secure digital communication
  • Ballistic protection
  • Fluidics

Conversely, the military and space programs are looking to decrease the cost of new products for use in their programs, and are looking to manufacturers for novel ideas and applications of their products. Key programs include efforts to find improved energy sources, energy storage devices, more energy efficient products and materials, methods of improving protective systems, and making missions easier and more effective. The Loucks Group can provide manufacturers advice as to the possible applications of their products, the level of interest that might exist within the government acquisition authority, and how the product may be modified or applied in the military, or space setting.
